I can’t believe I have to start this blog this way!

I’ve been writing for years before AI came onto the scene and then stopped writing…because life right…

I’m all for AI, but when a bot writes your entire article or post for you, how do you expect to get an authentic audience when you’re not being genuine in the first place?

I said it before and I’ll say it again, real recognises real.

What does this have to do with making money online?

A lot. Actually.

Have you noticed the number of people who live in South Africa and claim to be making thousands and even millions online?

In South Africa? So many people?

I’m struggling to believe this is true. After studying marketing for a long time and then working within the marketing industry, I know how difficult digital marketing can become – if you are a beginner.

I’ve been in the make money online niche for a while now, and oh boy…it’s been a crazy ride filled with inauthentic people clickbaiting others just to make a sale.

The truth is that people are struggling and if it was so easy to make money online, making millions online, why aren’t we all living in mansions, driving expensive cars and making blogs from our holiday homes in the Bahamas?

In my capacity as marketing manager for a listed company in Johannesburg, I was asked to create an online store from scratch…and I did!

So I realised if I could do this from scratch, let me try using digital marketing to help me make money in my personal capacity and see how it goes.

I had no idea that only a few years later, I will leave my well-paying job in my senior management capacity to do this full-time.

When I first started making money online, I had no idea what affiliate marketing was.

Let me explain, you know when you’re watching your favourite content creator online, let’s say it someone who’s into fitness, they aren’t trying to sell you anything, but you watch their content because you relate to them and their story. Most days when you watch them, they’re usually drinking their yummy protein shake.

They don’t manufacture this shake or own the company, they’re just there, talking, drinking that yummy shake… every time. Then, in the comments section, people are getting curious and asking about this shake, the creator responds and says that if they want to know about the shake or want to buy, the link is in the bio.

This creator wasn’t trying to sell you anything. You watched them because you relate to them, but one day you wanted to try a protein shake, so you clicked on the link and bought the smallest size to try.

From the moment you clicked on that link and made the purchase, that content creator earned commission.

Almost everyone online does it because it’s one of the easiest ways to make an income online. For every sale they make, they will be paid commission. They’re not pushing products in your face or coming off as a salesperson, yet you’re watching, opening your heart to their content and your wallet to the products in their profile!

Imagine opening a business and making sales, but never having to buy inventory, do stock take, pay rent for a building, hire staff, or even pay for delivering stock!!

This is exactly what affiliate marketing is, you will get a sales-based commission for every product you sell. This is a sweet deal!

This works well in South Africa because the majority of people cannot afford to start a traditional business where money is needed to make the business a success.

With all this being said, I’m sure you can see why I said...Don’t believe everything you see on social media. I can guarantee you that the masses are NOT making millions online. The people who make those claims have no idea what marketing is.

Truth be told – if they knew what real marketing is, they won’t need to make income claims to clickbait people.

Enough about them, in 2023, I decided to create a high quality, affordable digital marketing program that teaches people in South Africa and around the world how to make money online with affiliate marketing. This course is called the beginner program and just took off like a rocket haha, maybe because the launch price was R50, affordable for many South Africans who may not have been able to study otherwise.
